What is Communication Design?‎

This can mean online video and static image campaigns, billboards, television commercials, and marketing materials like brochures, stationery, and business cards. While every designer working in advertising isn’t handling all of these types of projects, many take on work in multiple areas. A communication designer understands how to take these elements and utilize them to convey a specific mood.

It’s time to expand your multicloud expertise

Mark contributions as unhelpful if you find them irrelevant or not valuable to the article. Abstract painters express themselves through their art, leaving the viewer to interpret the work however they want. In many ways, the art is more about the viewer’s experience than about the actual art itself.

Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional

Shillington Education student Theodora Lamprinaki designed a cycling app called Cymplify as part of her coursework where residents of Oxford city could combine cycling with sight-seeing. The responsibility of a communication designer is to develop the relationship between the viewer and visuals. Before they know what the visuals will look like, a communication designer will consider the message they want to communicate and how to strategically engage the viewer. They will consider what will capture a viewer’s attention first, the common associations that audiences have, and the psychology behind how design elements affect someone’s mood. They create designs that communicate a message faster than words can, but make sure that the messaging is also clear and compelling.

A great designer knows this and will carefully design packages and labels to stand out, either on the shelves of a store or on an online store. You may be hired to design a label for a bottle of wine, the information tag for a new clothing line, or the packaging materials for an online retailer. When it comes to packaging and label creation, there are so many opportunities for designers. As a family-owned company with a tight-knit workforce, we offer a results-driven environment where your input is valued and encouraged, and your responsibilities are exciting and challenging. Since founding the company in 1975, the owners of our company have always boasted about employees as our greatest asset.

Branding is largely about logos, colors, and typography, but it’s also more than that. Whatever design element you’re creating for a brand, it needs to be purposeful. Studies show that color is directly linked to the purchasing decisions of most consumers — and these same consumers know that the right color choice or combination increases brand recognition. Their bulls eye is not only one of  the most nationally recognized logos, the red color also exemplifies passion and action and nudges consumers to make more urgent purchases. Based on the internet’s obsession with Target memes, it’s clear that their strategy is working. When someone studies communications design, they come away with a degree that has them ready for a wide range of jobs.

Under the ownership of the Parsons family, CTDI developed a strong presence in the community and we play an active role in supporting the United Way, YMCA, Shine Cancer Foundation, and Catholic Education. We continue to see a steady increase in the number of people who rely on their smartphones as part of their everyday lives, whether it’s for social connection, news, shopping, or work. Technology isn’t going anywhere, so it’s important that mobile web and app design continues to evolve. Mobile app designers may be hired by a company to create and manage their app, or they may create their own products and sell them through their own company. We are where you want to be -- leading the way in the exciting and rapidly growing field of telecommunications.

This certification validates your skills and knowledge of entry-level concepts. Learn from anywhere, anytime with self-paced courses or take instructor-led courses from academies across the globe. Matthew Perry sells Century City penthouse for $21 6 million, priciest condo sale in years Los Angeles Times

Like many of his other properties, this too had a screening room and a gorgeous pool, and large windows facing the stunning outdoor area from multiple rooms, overlooking the lights of the city. However, what truly made this house special was that the home theater was underground and had large windows that offered underwater views of the pool. Perry purchased this 5,500-square-foot property for $12 million. This beachfront oasis sits on the famous Malibu Road, and features an airy open floor plan with gorgeous wood floors, beamed ceilings, and expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. There are four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms in this home, as well as a home theater, a relaxing outdoor spa, and a luxury galley kitchen we would love to cook in.

Record deals and tax-avoidance maneuvers: Southern California’s priciest sales of 2023

The listing now shows the property to be "temporarily withdrawn." There is also a screening room that seats a small group and a private, shaded outdoor hot tub area. Perry has shared several photos taken inside the home on Instagram in the past year, including one calling out a group of beachgoers taken amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Now, the property has sold for $13.1 million - $1.85 million less than the original asking price. Matthew Perry is officially saying goodbye to his beautiful Malibu beach house.

Wayfair Way Day: Here's what we know about the year's best furniture and home decor sale

Matthew Perry has listed his Hollywood Hills home for $13.5 million according to Trulia. The television show star purchased the contemporary house in 2011 for $8.5 million. The 3,821-square-foot home sits above the Sunset Strip, offering views from the iconic Los Angeles area to the downtown skyline, and all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Many rooms take advantage of the view with floor-to-ceiling glass sliders, which open up to a flat backyard with a LED-lit infinity swimming pool, a patio, a reflecting pool, fire pits, patches of green grass and greenery. The three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom space has an open living and dining area and a small indoor greenroom, with hardwood flooring and built-in shelving throughout the interiors. The modern design pops with bright accents throughout the house, including lime green countertops and a matching backsplash in the kitchen.

Rosie O’Donnell relists her NYC triplex penthouse — for a loss

Perry purchased the beachfront property in a 2011 off-market deal valued at exactly $12 million, according to Variety. The publication reports that the 5,500-square-foot home sits along one of Malibu's most "prestigious" streets. He decided to transform it into a sober living facility called the Perry House to help others with the same afflictions he had experienced.

For a reported $3.2 million, Perry purchased a 6,500-square-foot home in the Beverly Hills area. Without waiting for his first home to sell (which turned out to be a pattern of the star's), he bought this 1970s mansion and upgraded it with all the normal features you would find in a celebrity's bachelor pad. He apparently put in a screening room, a home gym, a wine cellar, and a game room, to name a few of his extra amenities. Inside, a massive open floor plan provides easy motion between the living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room boasts a large grey-tiled modern fireplace that stretches to the ceiling and a retractable wall of glass that spans nearly the length of the entire back wall.

Plus there’s an open-plan living and dining space, hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves, and colorful kitchen and walls of floor-to-ceiling glass sliders. Oh and there’s a subterranean screening room which offers views into the infinity edge swimming pool. By 2020, Perry had both his Mansion in the Sky and his Malibu beach house on the market, but that didn't stop him from buying yet another property. For $6 million, the Friends star purchased a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathrooms home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Quotes displayed in real-time or delayed by at least 15 minutes. Surf fans, of course, venerate Reeves as a saint after his portrayal of Johnny Utah in Point Break, which remains the best surf movie ever made. In the gals, it was all France’s queen of big-wave surfing Justine Dupont, the first woman to surf mythical outer-reef Belharra. Best known for playing Chandler Bing on Friends, Perry grew up in Ottawa, Canada, and moved to California to live with his father as a teen, which he recounted in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing. A lot of chatter, here there and everywhere, about the actor Matthew Perry, who was found dead in his jacuzzi, aged fifty-four, yesterday. New Zealand surfers, these days, are in the midst of a brutal one.

Protests were in the process of being organized, acts of civil disobedience in the works, though Perry quickly pivoted and said he was sorry. First, a wave some big-wave surfers called the “best barrel ever” at a remote Irish reef last November, the swell generated by the remnants of Hurricane Martin. Last week, Reddit’s co-founder Alexis Ohanian attempted to provide.

"In California, you can also designate a beneficiary to real estate, stock accounts, bonds, accounts, life insurance, IRAs, 401(k)s, CDs," he says. "So if you have beneficiaries designated, then that will go to whoever you designated." Now that he’s freed from his real estate concerns, the star’s new focus appears to be an adorable puppy. The result is a loftlike space with expansive walls of glass, looking out to the Pacific Ocean.

The 2-story beach house boasts 5,500 square feet of interior luxury living space, 4 bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms. The midcentury modern ranch-style home clocks in at 2, 696 square feet and has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. It's described as "quintessential southern California living" by Realtor.com—one look at the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Pacific coast and we can see why. It’s one of Southern California’s most expensive condo sales in the last decade, ranking just behind another Century Tower penthouse (coincidentally found a floor below Perry’s place) that sold for $22.5 million in 2015. The current benchmark was set in 2010, when socialite Candy Spelling dropped $35 million on a 15,555-square-foot residence with a private pool that spans the top two floors of the same building.

A theater room underneath the master bedroom offers an aquarium-like view of the pool through two-inch thick windows. The fab pad can hold lots of friends, with two floors, four bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms on 5,000 square feet. The main level features an open living and dining area, a fireplace, beamed ceilings, and sparkling views of the ocean.

She has been with the brand for 25 years, writing cover stories and features and managing special issues including the Beautiful Issue and Sexiest Man Alive. Reeves, of course, originated the role of Johnny Utah in Point Break, the greatest surf film ever, and surf fans took the slur seriously. Matthew Perry paid six mill for it three years ago and was hit with seventy-one grand in property taxes every year, peanuts for an actor who was still getting three mill a year in syndication residuals. Jug, who’s forty-nine and a firefighter a couple hours north of Sydney at Bateau Bay, said he’s never seen a shark in the wild before, only dead on the beach.

In an off-market deal, Perry apparently paid $5.25 million, $750,000 under asking price. This home has three bedrooms and four bathrooms and sits on a 9,622-square-foot lot, and, now a connection to a beloved star who won't be forgotten. After the first season of Friends, Perry bought a 2-bedroom house in the Hollywood Hills, a residential neighborhood in Los Angeles well known for being a celebrity hub. This was the first ever home Perry bought, and he sold it in April of 2001 for $839,000. The beginning of his real estate portfolio, the house was a modest 2,000 square feet.

Taking place at the Washington Hilton Hotel, the annual event is hosted this year by Saturday Night Live comedian Colin Jost. "When I die, I don't want 'Friends' to be the first thing that's mentioned – I want helping others to be the first thing that's mentioned," he said then. Matthew Perry died last weekend from an apparent drowning, and less than a week after his passing, his legacy is already being firmly established. ‘The Five’ discusses how Matthew Perry’s death affects young people who grew up watching ‘Friends’ as the world mourns him. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

This 4,100-square-foot retreat features sheets of glass that open up to a patio and swimming pool. Designed in the mid-century modern style, the house includes multiple fireplaces (both indoor and outdoor), a home theater, and three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. It resides in the Sunset Strip neighborhood, which is an extremely well-known and historic area in Hollywood surrounded by legendary bars and landmarks. A set of floating concrete steps leads up to an oversized front door, flanked by a row of floor-to-ceiling windows and an attached two-car garage. Visitors are greeted by an atrium-style entryway with stone tile floors and an all-glass ceiling that allows pools of natural light to stream in.

"Most people who are well advised would have a will and a trust because the trust only operates on assets that you've put inside the trust," says Zwicker. "So you can think of the trust as a box with rules. You put your stuff in the box and the rules govern. If you've left something out of the box, we need our will." "So clearly anyone who is thinking does not pass their assets through a will because everything becomes public." The open floor plan made the buyer swoon, according to Luis Robledo, the Douglas Elliman agent who represented the buyer. The home also features an outdoor spa and a state-of-the-art home theater.

15 impressive Aztec Nail Art Ideas

aztec nail design

Each design tells a story, whether it’s a tribute to the culture, a reflection of nature, or a nod to the intricate Aztec calendar. “Pop nail art on a sheer base is currently all the rage, and incorporating curvy lines or abstract paint perfectly captures a hot summer vibe,” says Choi. She recommends experimenting with bright shades like coral-reds and magentas atop a sheer rose base. With this trend, however, channel your inner artist, as pretty much any color goes. We love the summery combo of sherbert-inspired shades like pale peach and soft coral contrasted with punchier, poolside hues of aquamarine and turquoise.

Bad Bunny Nail Ideas and Designs

For a western touch, consider adding small accents like stars or horseshoes. Remember to use high-quality, non-toxic nail polish for your safety. Once you’ve mastered the basics of Aztec nail art, it’s time to up your game with some advanced western nail techniques. With long nails, you’ve got even more canvas to play with, and Aztec designs can truly shine.

Aztec Nail Design With A Yellow Base

For another summer in a row, the micro French manicure remains at the top of nail artists’ lists, although this time around the trend gets a fluorescent twist. To update the look for summer, Koon loves the idea of adding dainty bows—another of 2024’s biggest beauty trends—to her blush nails. “Bows are everywhere right now and I feel like looking through [the recent] spring/summer shows, there was a lot of whimsy,” says Koon, a vibe she was eager to experiment with. Koon painted on the bows using a liner brush and black gel polish and then layering silver chrome powder on top. If you’re doing this at home, she notes the easiest way is to use an acrylic nail art pen.

Eye-Catching Tribal Nails

From geometric and colorful designs to monochrome, matte, glossy, or seasonal styles, your options are endless. For a twist on the Aztec trend, you’ll love the visual appeal and texture of matte finish Aztec nails. In the end, you’ll have a beautiful manicure that’s a perfect blend of modern ombre and classic western charm. Long nail Aztec designs aren’t just fashionable but also an expression of creativity and personality, making your nails captivating to behold.

If you’re looking to make a bold statement with your nails, colorful Aztec nail designs are the way to go. Picture your nails as miniature replicas of the intricate Aztec calendar, with circular designs featuring detailed inner patterns. A mix of earthy colors adds depth and authenticity, making each nail a tiny window into the Aztec world, showcasing their advanced understanding of astronomy and time. It's clear that the neon makeup trend isn't going anywhere, and nails aren't an exception to the new rule. "Pairing neon colors with a nude to match your skin tone or touches of black will make the colors look even brighter."

Bold Color Blocking

This festive blue, yellow, and green mani is almost as good as a freshly-squeezed glass of the good stuff. Imagine fiery reds, deep blues, and lush greens coming alive in a dance of light and color on your fingertips. This design method involves a gradual blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark. Always remember to let each layer dry before adding the next to avoid smudging. It’s crucial to maintain your nails, keeping them healthy and strong. On the other hand, the square shape gives a modern edge to Western motifs, creating a striking contrast.

Color Camp (Los Angeles)

Color Camp used to have an in-person salon but is now selling all of its products online. They sell a variety of high-quality, press-on nails that will make you feel like you just stepped out of the salon in the comfort of your own home. If you’re looking for those show stopper, wowza-nails, we have discovered which salons can make your visions come true. We wandered up and down the LA streets, from neighborhood to neighborhood, to find those Instagramable spots that you’ve been dying to try.

While you’re exploring Aztec western nail designs, don’t overlook the striking variations of Aztec French tips. Think of a sophisticated, modern twist to Aztec art with monochromatic black and white nails. Fine, precise lines create tribal patterns and shapes, offering a contemporary take on traditional designs. This style speaks to a minimalist aesthetic while still celebrating the complexity of Aztec artwork.

Disney Wish photos: A first look at Disney's new cruise ship

disney cruise line photos

Typically single photo downloads cost about $21, packages of 10 cost about $150, and packages of 20 cost about $250. Is this a once-in-lifetime family reunion during the holidays? If you hate being photographed, or are 100% certain that you will never buy a photo, then feel free to wave off the photographers and go about your business. I went back through our old cruise information and surfed the internet to compile what I think is the most recent price lists. If you have sailed recently and noticed prices different than those below, please email me or comment below and let me know. Note that these prices are subject to change at anytime and may be different for your actually sailing, but hopefully it will give you a general idea of the type of pricing you can expect.

Disney Cruise Photo Package Overview

At any time during your cruise, you can stop by Shutters (mid-ship, adjacent to the atrium) and view your photos. You can view them on a computer screen by swiping your room key at one of the kiosks during Shutters’ operating hours. Note that the facial recognition software is not fool proof, so try and remember each time you have your photo taken and then make sure the photo shows up in your account. If you notice you are missing any photos, ask a Shutters employee to help you find it in the system and add it to your account.

All About the Photo Packages on Disney Cruise Line

disney cruise line photos

If you have two staterooms as part of the same booking, and guests under age 21 are in the second stateroom, the photos for both staterooms will show up in one package. This should happen automatically, but in my experience it often takes a trip to the onboard Shutters photo desk to make it happen. You can, however, make the package more valuable by taking advantage of the photographers as much as possible. My family tends to buy the photo package on every second or third sailing. On sailings where we know we’re buying the package, we make a game of seeing how many photos we can have the onboard photographers take of us.

I have never done this but I have heard that the packages are 15% cheaper than what you will find onboard but I cannot personally verify this. Hopefully one of my readers can speak to that in the comments below. Even if you don’t want to preorder, visiting the site will give you access to some ideas of the prices for sailings within the next 2 months or so. This topic gives me an opportunity to annoy you all with one of my favorite DCL stories. The photo below was taken on New Years Eve 2019 onboard the Disney Fantasy.

I know that there are such things as selfie sticks but nothing beats a great photo of the whole family having fun on a Disney cruise. The borders around the photos are often just not to my taste. If you want a formal night photo be aware that you may be standing in line for quite a while. They also set up lots of photo backgrounds around the ship. Every character greeting you go to you will find a photographer.

disney cruise line photos

They’ll get the job done, but it may not be pretty. Yes, DCL offers mugs, mousepads, plaques, and other items imprinted with your photos. You can order these on the ships or via the DCL photo website. In either case your items will be delivered to your home several weeks after you disembark. If you choose the photo book option, the book will be delivered to your home several weeks after your sailing, adding a level of challenge to any remediation you might need. Standard aspect ratios of photos in the US are 4″x6″, 5″x7″, or 8″x10″.

There are a variety of price points, but the most common is the all-inclusive photo package. These packages include the digital files of all the photos you have taken onboard. There is an option to pre-order some items prior to your cruise by visiting mycruisephotos.com.

The ship’s photographers (on the lower left) were still setting up and we wanted a photo with the tree in the background. I flagged down a teenage girl walking out of the Royal Court restaurant (teen girls always take the best photos) and asked her if she had a moment to take a photo of our family. As it turned out the girl was a daughter of Bobby Lopez and Kirsten Anderson-Lopez, the composing team behind Frozen and countless other musical theater masterpieces.

I took the non-logoed photo with my iPhone 13 about two seconds later. The photo package is available to everyone on board. The advantage of booking online in advance is simply the modest price break. Photographers will visit also every restaurant on the ship on select nights. This usually includes formal night and pirate night (if there is one), plus additional nights on longer sailings or specially themed sailings. They’ll stop by each table and will take as many shots as you want.

Then once you get on board the second stateroom family can buy the package at a 50% discount. There are a number of ways that you can buy Disney cruise photos. I am sure that one day soon that will change but at the moment there is no option to choose a different one. Unfortunately, you do not have the option to choose to remove or change the borders. I am not sure why in the age of digital ease but you get what you are given with the borders. Photos are of course an amazing way to capture the memories of your Disney Cruise.

They were in one stateroom and I (an adult) was in my own stateroom, but our reservations were linked and we ate dinner together and participated in some Port Adventures together. My friends opted to purchase the photo package and I did not. During our sailing, I posed in many photos with them.

There are so many photo ops you really can go all out and maximize it. The Shutters area on the Disney ships is very crowded on the last evening. It’s easy to change photos in and out of your Disney Cruise Photo Album and arrange them on the page as you want to.

You will be prompted to select your ship and sail date. Other DCL guests are often happy to help with photography. The photographers themselves usually won’t do this. However, during some character greeting photo ops, there will be an assistant available who will be happy to use your camera to take a few shots. In my experience, they often don’t take much care to compose the shot well.

A Room with a View

Most guests really enjoy her unique atmosphere, but she is a little dated now and even a 2019 refurbishment hasn’t stopped some guests from commenting on how her age is showing in places. If you love international cuisine though then definitely put this ship nearer the top of your list. The only consistent criticism from guests is that some of the more basic staterooms aren’t huge, but with so much to do onboard it’s not a major problem. Here’s the full list of all the ships in the Princess fleet, organised by average score.

Alaska Glaciers

Ultimately, by taking both personal preferences and itinerary into account, you can select the ideal Princess cruise ship that would suit your interests, making your vacation experience even more enjoyable. It’s down to you and your own personal preferences, but also remember that none of these ships are “bad”. They might have some bad reviews but every ship scored higher than an average rating, so most people enjoy their cruise on every ship in the Princess fleet. Originally built exclusively for the Caribbean, she now offers sailings in Europe too, although her lack of an enclosed pool due to her original design can sometimes be a drawback. She’s definitely a Caribbean ship – there’s not a huge amount to do during the day, since you’re more likely to be exploring tropical islands, but at night she is a lot of fun. Princess Cruises is one of the most popular cruise lines in the world, with a large fleet of ships that offer very different experiences.

Princess Cruises Named Best Large Cruise Ship and Family Cruise in USA Today’s ‘10Best” Readers’ Choice Awards

As Princess executives like to say, the line is all about warm and gracious service in an atmosphere of comfortable elegance designed to spark connections between passengers. Compared to most of its big ship-operating rivals, Princess is known for a more serene, almost "old school" sort of cruising that isn't about a lot of gee-whiz attractions. This ship has an average score of 4.07 out of 5, making it the best Princess Cruises ship according to the author’s ranking criteria. The Princess Cruises ships that have an Alfredo’s Pizza are Discovery Princess, Grand Princess, Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess, Sapphire Princess and Sky Princess. Coral Princess and Island Princess have pop-up Alfredo’s within the Sabatini’s Restaurant, while Enchanted Princess has Gigi’s – same menu, but a different name. The nicest Princess Cruise ship is likely the Discovery Princess, being the newest ship with the most contemporary features.

The Regal Princess offers a range of features and amenities that make it stand out, including an expansive atrium, a multi-level theater, and a variety of dining options. It also boasts a top-deck pool and spa, a sports court, and a fitness center for those who want to stay active during their cruise. I just came across a fascinating guide that ranks all the Princess cruise ships according to their popularity, based on customer reviews from three of the biggest review sites for cruise ships. Entertainment venues on the ships include a relatively large main theater for production shows, secondary lounges that offer comedy shows and other entertainment, and a casino.

Additionally, only 90 people, divided into dinner groups of 30, are allowed access each evening. Also reprised onboard are the Crown Grill traditional steakhouse and Sabatini’s for Italian cuisine. New onboard offerings include Umai Teppanyaki (where clients will find a typical hibachi-style dinner show), Umai Hot Pot and Makoto Ocean (in collaboration with Edomae-style sushi master Makoto Okuwa). Here, guests will find several innovative water-themed drinks below a waterfall. There’s also Good Spirits at Sea, a venue with high-energy, drink-making sessions.

Measuring 175,500 gross tons, Sun Princess will be about 21% bigger than the biggest Princess cruise ship currently at sea — a significant increase. It'll be nearly double the size of the smallest Princess ships currently at sea. Are you looking for the most venue-packed, resort-like Princess Cruises ships at sea?

What is the biggest Princess cruise ship?

Onboard, guests can enjoy a range of dining options, from casual buffets to fine dining. The ship’s smaller size doesn’t compromise on entertainment, with a range of shows, live music, and activities on offer. The Crown Princess, introduced in 2006, is a favorite for many seasoned cruisers. With a capacity of 3,080 passengers, it offers a vast array of amenities without feeling overwhelming. The ship’s Piazza-style atrium, often buzzing with live music and activities, is a central hub of entertainment. The Movies Under the Stars feature, where guests can watch films on the top deck, is a unique experience that many cherish.

Cruisers have the ability to extend their vacation with cruise add-ons that include the option to travel inland via train and stay at the Wilderness Lodges close by to parks in Denali and visit Whittier, Anchorage and Fairbanks. Extend your Alaska cruise vacation, and simplify your travel plans with a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your cruise. With a Cruise Plus Hotel Package, a Princess representative meets you at the airport and pier, transporting you to and from your hotel. The package includes the cost of your hotel stay, transportation, luggage handling and the services of the representative. Travel back in time and pan for gold like a prospector during the Gold Rush. Snuggle sled dog puppies in the ship's Piazza, or see the Northern Lights in the planetarium.

In addition, these staterooms include a roll-in shower equipped with grab bars and a fold-down bench seat, an easy access closet and accessible writing desk. This impressive stateroom offers the added indulgence of a balcony and gives you more space than a standard stateroom. Enjoy your own private outdoor space with a table, two chairs, and a relaxing view of the inspiring scenery surrounding you, whether a beautiful sunset over the ocean or a new city to explore. It’s also perfect to enjoy cocktails before dinner or a leisurely breakfast. Sister ship, Enchanted Princess, also earned the No. 3 spot in this same category. That's because Princess is particularly known for cruises to the 49th state, where it dominates the market for cruises along with sister line Holland America.

Explore one of the world’s oldest collection of totem poles at the Totem Pole Heritage Center, or stroll along Creek Street. As the salmon capital of the world, Ketchikan’s waters make for incredible fishing. Icy Strait Point is home to the remote Tlingit village of Hoonah, home to fewer than 800 people and a deep Native history.

And having launched in 1998, Grand Princess is one of the oldest ships still sailing for any of the major American cruise lines. Indeed, what you won't find on the Grand Class ships (or any Princess ship other than the new Sun Princess, for that matter) are a lot of family-focused deck-top attractions. As noted above, the Royal Class ships can carry about 3,600 passengers apiece, based on double occupancy (two people per cabin). However, it's possible you'll find even more people than that on these ships when you sail on them. When additional berths from pull-down bunks and pull-out sofas are factored in, the total capacity of the ships jumps to around 4,600 passengers.

Once you're inside, you'll find pleasing decor and in-room amenities like ELEMIS bath products and spa-branded bathrobes and slippers to enhance your stay. I would say that a Porthole cabin isn’t worth paying any extra for compared to a standard Interior. Yes, you do get a tiny bit of natural light, but the thickness of the walls means that the amount is limited, as is the view. If space is important to you, and you think you’ve got the budget to spare, then a Balcony could be a better option than a Carnival cruise interior room.

Are there any restrictions on who can book a Cloud 9 Spa Interior Room or a Havana Interior Room?

Before you book your cruise, you will want to know which stateroom you should call your own. Getting familiar with the types of staterooms helps you choose the sleeping space that offers you the most comfort based on your personal preferences and personality. It could also depend on whether you’re cruising solo, plus-one, with the family or as a group. The two Scenic Ocean View cabins available on Carnival Elation feature more space at 230 square feet, but also floor-to-ceiling windows. Accommodating up to two passengers, these staterooms usually have a table with two chairs and a nightstand. Standard Carnival Elation room amenities include two twin beds that can be pushed together to form a king, closets, drawers and shelving for storage, a hair dryer, a mini-refrigerator and a safe.

What does Cloud 9 Spa Interior Room include?

However, if you’re claustrophobic or prefer natural light, then Interior rooms with no windows may not be the best option for you. If you want more space and a view, you can opt for a Porthole or Window cabin, or even a Balcony cabin. As someone who values freedom and flexibility, I was initially hesitant about booking an interior room.

What to Expect in Rooms on Carnival Jubilee

There was a lot of attention to detail to ensure the design optimized the small cabin. Stateroom cabin categories are simply the way that Carnival groups the different types of staterooms (cabins). You can see details and floor plans for all of the categories on Carnival Valor on this page. For families, Jubilee’s Family Harbor area includes an exclusive lounge for families, offering games and snacks for kids and adults. As a guest in an interior room, I have access to all the same facilities as those in balcony or suite cabins.

The transportation hub at Amber Cove offers handy access to rental cars, taxis and dozens of enjoyable shore excursions. For excitement on land, take off on an ATV adventure or ride a zip line through the rain forest. One of our inside cabin's biggest surprise was the bathroom; more particularly, we loved the surprisingly spacious and practical shower. We also noted the number of outlets and USB plugs available on the vanity, including 4 USB plugs and 3 additional 120 VT outlets.

Find a Carnival Elation Cruise from $259

The Havana Cabanas all are found on Deck 8 forward, and those guests on Deck 9 can look down into your balcony. We still find these cabins to be charming and social – and the exclusivity keeps you out of the crowds – but those looking for privacy should skip them. Not all cabins are able to accommodate scooters; those traveling with scooters must contact the cruise line ahead of their sailings. I’m not aware of any interior rooms larger than the premium option.

Carnival Jubilee offers a Havana Experience enclave, a private area (accessible only by keycard) where guests staying in these cabins get exclusive access to a small pool, outdoor bar and sun deck. Havana rooms that have balconies have hammocks and cute little patios, which we adore though they aren’t particularly private. Can you fit more than 5 guests in an interior room on a Carnival cruise? Interior room privacy and entertainment options are limited and may not be suitable for larger groups.

For families traveling together, having the extra space of the extended balcony stateroom would be worthwhile.

Just remember, these rooms are made for two guests, not four, so make sure to let them know your crew size. But honestly, they aren’t my top pick because there’s a walkway between your balcony and the ship’s edge, which can kinda mess with your privacy. You get access to a cool pool area just for guests above 12, so it’s a nice, quiet spot.

Balcony

The sofa in the extended balcony stateroom converted each night into a sleeper bed (not to be mistaken with a roll-out couch). Essentially, the stateroom attendant would remove the back cushions each evening and the sofa was transformed into a twin bed. During the day, the sleeper bed served as a couch for the stateroom. The layouts between our inside cabin and the extended balcony stateroom were totally different; however, the decor, color schemes and carpet were identical.

I'd argue that even a family with children would find the space a little cramped. We expected to see more differences between the inside cabin's bathroom and the extended balcony stateroom, but for the most part, they were the same. Both bathrooms featured shelving above and below the bathroom counter.

All Carnival Jubilee rooms include a desk/vanity with mirror, an ottoman (with hidden storage), a wardrobe, TV, minifridge, hair dryer, safe, telephone and individual climate control. Most include two twin beds that can be combined into a king, though some have a king that can’t be separated. Beds each have two teeny-tiny night tables, two reading lights and two USB ports. Additionally, desks have 110 AC power outlets with U.S. sockets and more USB ports. While some may see the lack of windows as a downside, it can actually be a plus for those who love sleeping in complete darkness. Plus, the smaller size of the room can make it feel even more intimate and comfortable.

What started as a yearly vacation with family quickly turned into a passion for travel, cruising and adventure. She even studied abroad on Semester at Sea, sailing the world on a ship while taking courses for college and visiting 4 continents. We appreciated Carnival's attention to detail in the bathroom, from the large shower to the tiling on the floor. Considering our last Carnival cruise had spongy, bumpy and blue flooring, this was a huge upgrade to see the modern design of the bathroom staterooms. Although small, the bathroom was well designed to utilize the space. We found there to be plenty of storage between the shelves and counter, along with space in the shower to also store cosmetics.

In 1996, the new Destiny class was introduced, with the Carnival Destiny. At 101,000 GT , it became the largest passenger ship in the world at the time and first to exceed 100,000 tons. The Destiny-class platform continued to be used in various iterations all the way to the Carnival Splendor in 2008. The same year the veteran ship Festivale, the last of the original second-hand fleet, was retired. In 2001, Carnival transferred their first new build, the 1982 built Tropicale to Costa Cruises. Through the rest of the decade, the line would continue to sell, or transfer the other 1980s built ships to other lines, with the Jubilee in 2004, Celebration in 2008, and Holiday in 2009.

In 1993, Carnival began to get rid of their older second-hand tonnage, and sold their first ship, Mardi Gras, after 21 years of service with the line. The Carnivale followed the same year, going to newly created Carnival subsidiary Fiesta Marina Cruises. The fun continues when you reach your port — there’s a huge variety of shore excursions to choose from. Our ships sail to stunning destinations — see just where on the map we go.

If your group likes to sail a little closer to the waves — or just in a calm location at the aft of the ship — choose a Family Harbor Cove Balcony stateroom. You’ll find your outpost a wave-watcher’s paradise… and while we can’t promise, you just might catch a living, swimming marine biology lesson from your railing! This stateroom features a unique nautical décor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. Start by exploring the incredible ports we visit… and the fun things to do, both on the ship and ashore. On July 31, 2021, after numerous delays, the highly anticipated Mardi Gras entered service, sailing year round from Port Canaveral. In 2001, the new Panamax size Spirit class debuted with the Carnival Spirit, the first of the four-ship class within the Carnival fleet.

We don’t have proof, but evidence suggests that the Caribbean was made for cruising. This evidence is all around you — you’ll find in the Caribbean air, the sand and the water. And with more than 5,000 islands and cays spread across this amazing region, there’s a lot of paradise to see. Best of all, the mild climate means it doesn’t even matter what time of year you go. A Carnival Caribbean cruise takes you to some of the coolest little hotspots… stretching across the world’s designated hotspot.

All Family Harbor staterooms feature a unique nautical décor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. And while you sail along, the whole family will enjoy not only exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, but more great perks around the ship. Family life is the sweet life, whether on land or at sea… and especially when in a Family Harbor Suite.
